ITINERARY
DAY 1
Arrival at Ghost Mountain Inn, check into your room and unpack. Relax in the Gardens and enjoy a light lunch. Dinner at Hotel
DAY 2
After a good night’s rest and full English breakfast depart for a full day to the Mkhuze Game Reserve stopping en-route at a picnic site for a light bush lunch before continuing and returning to the Hotel in the late afternoon. Dinner at hotel.
DAY 3
After a leisurely breakfast, we go and visit a local school and spend an hour with teachers and staff touring the school learning about their achievements and challenges. End off by planting a fruit tree with a few of the students. Return to the Hotel for the rest of the day at leisure, to relax by the pool, or pamper yourself at our Spa or simply read a book in a quiet garden setting. Lunch and Dinner at the Hotel.

DAY 4
After breakfast, head out to Lake Jozini for a morning Boat Cruise, a unique outing on water where one may see elephant, rhino, hippo and crocodile from the boat! For the keen birders, there is also a wide variety of birdlife and plenty exquisite gorges with the Lebombo Mountains in the background. Return to the Hotel for a light lunch. In the later afternoon, we depart on a gentle walk from the Hotel around a stretch of water in front of the Hotel into the Mkhuze riverbed and along to an old weir. Enjoy the birdlife and wonderful scenery with views of Ghost Mountain and the Lebombo mountain range.

DAY 5
This morning we depart into the Lebombo Mountains for a truly unique and authentic experience, which includes a visit to a local homestead interacting with members of the Myeni family. We discuss Zulu culture as it is today in rural Zululand. You will also get the chance to sample some of their traditional food and drink before ending off the trip with some magnificent views and rural life happening around you. Return to the Hotel for the rest of the afternoon at leisure.

DAY 6
Today after breakfast we visit the oldest game park in Africa, Hluhluwe Game Reserve. On the way to the park stop by Ilala Weavers to view and shop for traditional handcraft. Enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the picnic sites and spend the afternoon searching for the big five.
Dinner at hotel.
DAY 7
This morning we drive up to the base of the great Ghost Mountain. Local legend has it that the mountain is haunted, hike and learn more about the history and folklore of the mountain and the surrounding area. Lunch will be back at the Hotel. In the late afternoon drive up to the majestic Ubombo for sundowners to watch the African sun set on your last day in Zululand!
Although the hike may be slightly strenuous, some of your fitter guest should manage it.
