As the day fades, enjoy sparkling wine at a Welcome Reception, as you watch the outback sun set over the monumental sandstone monolith of Ululru.

Sails In The Desert

In the heart of Australia's Red Centre, Sails in the Desert hotel beautifully contrasts Uluru's raw natural beauty with a decidedly luxurious outback holiday experience.

Witness the mesmerising arrival of another day overlooking Kata Tjuta and Uluru. Then, skirting the base of Uluru, hear ancient tales, see fabulous rock art and visit Mutitjulu Waterhole. Your next stop is Curtin Springs Station, home to the Severin family since 1956 when Peter Severin arrived with his young wife Dawn, their toddler son Ashley and 1,500 head of cattle! Take part in a paper-making workshop at Curtin Springs Paper then kick back in true Aussie-style at BBQ lunch. Meet one of the locals who’ll tell you about the Severin’s and the logistics of running a million acre cattle property. Before arriving in Kings Canyon view Atila (Mt. Conner), often mistaken for Uluru, and call in the Kings Creek Station. This evening, you’re treated to the unique dining experience, Under a Desert Moon, set in the wilderness under a canopy of the southern night sky (weather permitting). Enjoy sparkling wine and canapés followed by dinner prepared from fresh produce.

Kings Canyon Resort

440 million years in the creating, Kings Canyon rises 270 metres above sea level and is at the heart of Australia's Red Centre. It is here that an unforgettable outback adventure will unfold in an extraordinary place of ancient beauty.

Gaze across the deep chasm of Kings Canyon as you embark on a sunrise 6km rim walk, taking in the domed ‘Lost City’ and the verdant ‘Garden of Eden. If you’d prefer a more relaxed walk, you can opt for a more gentle walk along the Canyon Creek Bed. Afterwards you’re off the beaten track, travelling along the 4WD Mereenie Loop Road past Gosses Bluff and then through the West MacDonnell Ranges to the iconic outback town of Alice Springs.
