St-Felicien Wildlife Adventure

After arriving independently at the Zoo Sauvage de St-Félicien at 10:30, you’re ready to begin your adventure. After a warm welcome from your guide, your adventure begins with an extraordinary multi-sensory film that will stimulate your sense of smell and touch. Next, you will visit the pedestrian part of the zoo. Your guide will drive you to the Settlers’ Farm where a traditional meal will be served for lunch before returning back to the Nature trail via minibus. You will also have the opportunity to walk a 2 km on an easy trail in the land of the caribou and the moose while enjoying an ecological interpretation of their habitat. Your guide will also introduce you to the local boreal plant and wildlife and show you how to track caribou and moose. Enjoy a sunset canoe excursion on Lake Montagnais to observe waterfowl, moose, musk oxen and black bears, followed by a hearty campfire dinner. Overnight in a Prospector’s tent at St. Félicien Zoo. Lunch, snack and dinner included.

This morning you’ll learn about telemetry and search for the female moose, continue to enjoy the Nature Trail Park from the minibus, observe the polar bears feeding and visit their night quarters. After lunch you will visit some “behind-the-scenes” sections of the zoo like the keeper’s kitchen and the veterinary clinic. After your guide departs, you can take time to further explore the zoo on your own before your independent departure. Breakfast and lunch included.
